Pastor - Rev. Marilyn R. Cunningham



Rev. Marilyn R. Cunningham accepted her call into ministry in 1984 at St. Paul Holiness Believer’s Church under the leadership of the late, Rev. Abraham Parker. The following year she was licensed to preach, and was ordained in the Holiness movement in 1996. During this time, Rev. Cunningham preached and facilitated several workshops at churches throughout
the city of Rochester and up and down the East Coast of the United States. She served as an active member of the Unified Mission of Rochester, working closely with local preachers, and other non-profit organizations to address socioeconomic concerns such as hunger, and homelessness.  In 2001, God called her back to the church of her youth, New Bethel CME Church then, under the leadership of the late, Rev. Raymond Graves, and in 2003, she was assigned Youth Pastor. Under her leadership and guidance, the youth program flourished. Several new ministries and initiatives were formed including a Children’s Church, Annual Youth Revival and Youth Newsletter. In 2012, during the Annual Conference of the 7th Episcopal District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. Cunningham was assigned to pastor Graves Memorial CME Church by the late senior bishop, The Right Reverend Thomas L. Hoyt. Rev. Cunningham serves on the board of GRCC/FIAN, ROC/Acts (Clergy Caucus Chair), Jefferson Avenue Faith Community, she is also a member of the Rochester Police Coalition. In 2013 she completed her studies at the Rochester Institute for Christian Education (an affiliate program of Northeastern Seminary @ Roberts Wesleyan College). Rev. Marilyn Cunningham was married to the late Willie H. Cunningham for 39 years. She is the mother of four, and grandmother of six.
